Without Hancock, there would be no declaration of independence

George Washington was not the first president of our country, that was John Hancock. He was elected 251 years ago today. He would later become instrumental in ratifying the constitution. Without Hancock, there would be no declaration of independence, there would be no constitution, there would be no United States.  Now, why do you think public schools don’t teach that?
